About The Course

If you’ve ever wondered what it takes to care for tiny Bennett’s and Pademelon joeys, this workshop is for you.

Led by WNT Board Member Suzy Nethercott-Watson, one of Tasmania’s most respected macropod carers, this session will explore the unique needs of our smallest hoppers—helping you build confidence and clarity in caring for delicate young joeys.

Suzy brings over 27 years’ experience in macropod rehabilitation, with a special focus on pinkies and early-stage care. Her calm, grounded approach has guided many rehabilitators in developing their skills and instincts with vulnerable wildlife.

What we’ll cover:

  • Early-stage housing and pouch management
  • Feeding and formula transitions
  • Thermoregulation requirements
  • Common health concerns and failure to thrive indicators
  • Hygiene & handling
  • Growth tracking and progression readiness

Whether you’re expanding your skill set or looking to refresh your confidence before taking on smaller joeys, this session is designed to support you—every bounce of the way.
